A Study on the Ossification of Carpal bone in the Korean Children

Abstract
|
|
|
Radiographs of carpal bone of the 180 children from 5 years old to 7 were taken to research the ossification;
1. Capitate, Hamate and Distal radius have been completely ossified. But the ossification center of the Pisiform was not appeared.
2. The ossification centers of carpal bone except Capitate, Hamate and Distal radius appeared in order of the Triquetrum, Lunate, Greater multangular, Lesser multangular, Naviculare and Distal ulna.
3. The ossification of carpal bone had processed proportionally to aging.
4. The ossification was earlier in the female than in the male.
5. The ossification center appeared earlier in the left than in the right.
